2008 CEAS SUMMER RESEARCH INSTITUTE

(July 6, 2008 through August 1, 2008)

 

About the Program

Stony Brook University?s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) Summer Research Institute was established in 2005. The program was developed to provide high-achieving high school students with a practical introduction to engineering research. Student participants will spend approximately four weeks (July 6, 2008 through August 1, 2008) on Stony Brook?s campus. Participants will be exposed to state-of-the-art technologies while working alongside faculty mentors and/or experienced graduate students on a wide array of current engineering research projects.

 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a junior in high school.

 

Cost

  • The fee for participation in the program is $850. This will cover on-campus housing (Sunday through Friday) and a food stipend.
  • A separate, but refundable, housing check in the amount of $75 will also be required. This check will only be cashed in the event that there is damage to the room or the room key is lost. Otherwise, the check will be returned.
