Welcome to
the College's Office for Advancement! Our mission is to raise friends
and funds for the College. Our alumni and friends are our most important
asset and, as Director for Advancement, I would like to make sure we hear
from you and also that you receive news from the College.
It is a
very exciting time for the College. Over the next four years, we will
double our overall enrollment to meet the growing regional and national
need for engineers, computer scientists, and applied scientists. Our
students may well be the employees you and your company are searching
for. We will also start a major long-term construction program, beginning
with Heavy Engineering, a building where I am sure many of you spent
long hours. We are developing new programs including a new Chemical and Molecular engineering
program for undergraduates. The College is also the site for a newly
designated Center for Advanced Technology in Sensor Systems (Stony Brook
is the only university in New York State to have two such centers).
